Betty Club Mbitjana (1954/1955-2023) is an Aboriginal artist from Utopia, Australia. Daughter of the renowned Minnie Pwerle and niece of Emily Pwerle, she grew up amidst a rich artistic heritage. Inspired by her people's traditions, she began her artistic journey with batik before dedicating herself to painting. After her mother's passing in 2006, Betty asserted her own style, incorporating ancestral motifs such as the 'Bush Melon Dreaming' and the 'Awelye Dreaming'. Her 'aerial view' technique gives her works a unique dynamism, blending energy and movement. Her work perpetuates Aboriginal women's history and rituals, while adding a contemporary touch. Today, her paintings are sought after for their authenticity and cultural depth.
