Monica Napaltjarri is a Pintupi Aboriginal artist born in 1960 near Kiwirrkurra, Australia. Coming from a lineage of artists, she is part of the Western Desert art movement alongside her half-brother Joseph Jurra Tjapaltjarri and her sisters. She began painting in 1996, then fully dedicated herself to it in the 2000s. Her work draws from Pintupi mythology, particularly the narratives of the Tingari Ancestors and the sacred sites passed down by her grandmother.
